Discovery springs on my 90
Since i ditched my lift and gone back to standard CSW 90 springs, my ride 'quality' has improved immeasurably. well, for a LR anyway. However i have been thinking. the ride on a 90 is still quite crashy and harsh, mainly due to the standard springs still being fairly stiff. I presume this is...

Servicing a 3.9 disco on lpg
In exchange for a rather nice tortoise + vivarium + bits and bobs, i am going to give my brothers newly acquired 3.9 V8 disco1 a quick service. Just wanted to double check a few things before i buy the bits for it. -Oil, should it be 20w50 or 10w40 mineral? oil air and fuel filter will be Cooper Spa...

I'm extremely impressed at the quality of the paint and the finish considering its been done with a brush and rollers and all done on the side of the...

Got a bit more done today. Essentially the body is now done, as are rock sliders and rear wheel spats. Not terribly happy with the roof as it was too sunny and hot and the paint dried too quickly. Might sand it and do another coat... Just got to fit the wings and spray the front plastics and repaint...

Repainting the motor
The time has come for my 90 to finally get a bit of TLC to the bodywork. Its only 9 years overdue  so for my birthday i got some fancy coach enamel in traditional bronze green, brushes and foam rollers and some replacement front wings (thanks Mark) quick rub down with the sander to provide a ...

once you have the donut off, just refit the normal flange. beware there are 2 types, square and round. The round ones are longer and fit fine, the square ones are shorter and need a little spacer behind it. heres a thread on lr4x4 with pretty pictures on how to do it. http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.p...

throw your multimeter in the bin and use a test lamp. if i had used a small test lamp, i would have fixed my whacky lighting issues in about 30 minutes flat. Instead it took me hours to find that my column switch had a good circuit until you put a load on it (test lamp) and then it tripped out. The ...
