I'm still running the same SuperPro bushes on my motor that I fitted for Australia in 2008, with the exception of the pan hard rod bushes that I had to change when I changed from an imperial to metric panhard rod :) Fitted SuperPro to Pam's 90 when I rebuilt it and recently had to replace the rear t...

The diff lock might be engaged, most likely to show up when manoeuvring slowly such as when parking. By the sounds of it it's most likely to be something in the final transmission - transfer box, prop shafts, axle. Jack one wheel up and see if you can slowly drive off the jack without diff lock in. ...

There was another recent discussion on tyres here... (the size limits don't really apply to a Defender)

The Cooper STT are gaining in popularity with, I think, 4 or 5 vehicles running them in club trials now.

It's always very subjective but for trials you really only need a Mud terrain rather than one of the more extreme patterns. MTs will also handle on the road a lot better than some of the Simex copies making the journey to/from the trials more pleasant. I run a directional diamond pattern like this.....

Looks like today is going to be a bit of a write off with sleet/snow outside even I'm not daft enough to work outside ! Fortunately I got lots done on Friday evening and yesterday. Having bought a refill for my gas cylinder I took the passenger side wing bar off and finished welding it up. I painted...

Most of today was spent cutting aluminium. Took a while to pluck up the courage to take mr angry grinder to a perfectly good wing skin but after making a cardboard template then practicing on an old wing skin I eventually cut the actual wing skin. It's slightly oversize at the moment but it's close ...

After removing the bar again I completed the welding and added the tabs that the wing skin will mount on. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/imagegallery/albums/userpics/10002/normal_IMG_0185.jpg With the driver's side as a template I created a mirror image for the passenger side minus the chassis ...

In between rain showers on Saturday and between signing on and the meal during the Nav Scatter I got a bit more done during the weekend. I had to modify the inner wing slightly but managed to get the chassis brace and spreader plate sorted, linked the bar to the bumper and added a brace across the f...

Wing protection
For this year's Muddy Truckers Trophy I've decided, time allowing, to make a couple more modifications to my motor. One of them is to try and give the front wings some protection as, I'm sure anyone that's competed with us will agree, trying to minimise damage to the front wings makes life so much h...

NYCC Consultation
Not really sure what to think of this, the cynic in me suspects it's just a thinly veiled attempt by NYCC to get some form of justification for unilateral actions based on the views of a handful of wealthy land owners. Particularly the use of magistrates to make unilateral decisions. Anyway, make yo...
