Voltmeter wiring
Right, laid my hands on a Durite voltmeter off fleabay. Quick question, when I'm wiring it up, can I use any live connection I happen to find behind the dash or do I need to run a connection directly back to the battery?

Glow Plugs
Dave
Just out of interest, how did you know some of the glow plugs were knackered and how do you test them?

Glow plug timer
One of the bits that the previous owner 'bodged' with the Tdi conversion was the glow plug timer. I've managed to source a replacement from a Disco but before I fit it I just wanted to canvas thoughts on whether it's required or not. Searching a few forums the consensus seems to be that unless you l...

New Motor
Nick At the risk of further complicating your choice, we've had a Honda CRV (06 model) for about a year and we've been really impressed: - Good driving position - Economical (diesel) - Part time automatic 4WD (normally runs as FWD, 4WD only kicks in when front axle loses traction). I'm sure there's ...

Bits & Bats
Managed to get sorted with all the bits & bats from a bloke in Ripon (Ripon Offroad he calls himself) who was breaking a fire damaged 300Tdi. Also got a full set of TD5 lights, seats & wings for not a lot of money. He's got quite a collection of spares so if anyone needs an obscure part he m...

Hmmm, hadn't really thought about using a TD5 unit. Whereabouts does it normally fit?
Anyone had any experience of trying to mate a TD5 air filter onto a 200 TDi lump?
Cheers

300Tdi Air Filter
As there is no 'ideal' location for the 200 Tdi air filter housing on a Defender Tdi conversion, I've come up with the 'mad' (I say mad as I can't find anything on Forums about other people who have done this!) idea of trying to graft the box-like 300 Tdi air filter housing into the front left hand ...

Wires
Cheers Bo - it did start out life as a 2.25 petrol (according to the V5 it still is!). I've got a multimeter so I'll do some 'experiments' this weekend.
Thanks

The tubes themselves are about 48mm and are around 6 inches long. At the top they must go into some sort of fitting which then connects to the bottom of the grill that you can see on the top of the dash.

Ignition Switch Wiring
In my haste to remove the steering column I omitted to write down which wire went to which connector on the ignition switch. I've looked on a few forums and none of the connector layouts described seem to match mine. I've put a couple of pictures below but basically there are four male spade connect...
