Things that go bump...
Given the advice from several club members and some blind naivety of my own, the magical process of turning a length of steel box section and some odds and ends into a superb, world class HD bumper has begun. How hard can it be.... First stage was to pick up a length of 100x75x3 box from Dave for a ...

Thanks Dave. I was thinking of opening up one of the ends and inserting the tube inside the box of the std bumper rather than trying to fit it behind. That way it would be a single run of tube. Making my own was something I hadn't considered but sounds like it might not be too bad. Do you know where...

Strengthening a bumper?
Following my attempts to turn the front bumper on my 90 into a wraparound style, I'm looking at ways to make it a bit tougher. I can't afford to replace it with a nice HD bumper, but I do have a scaff tube lying around that I was thinking of inserting into the full width of the std bumper and weldin...

Dremel type tool
I've got a cheaper copy of a Dremel which has lasted quite well. There is a spring that forms a coupling between the motor and the collet. This fits round the two ends of the drive with the end of the spring fitting into the slotted ends of the motor and collet drive. The problem I have is that one ...

Bulkhead plating
I need to cut out and plate a (hopefully) small hole on the bulkhead on my 90. Does anyone know what thickness steel plate I need to match up with the original?
(And any suggestions of where I can buy some near Harrogate)
Cheers.

Paul: I guess it probably is working OK, but I just get worried when it gets that high. The only other time it's got that high was off-road and I don't know if that was down to the home made rad muff that was still on covering half the rad, muddy water partially blocking the rad fins, or something e...

Well it was MOT time again and it failed - which surprised me a little as I didn't think there was anything really wrong. As it turns out there wasn't, it was the little things that I didn't even think of. Number plate lights not working, stop light lenses faded so the light wasn't 'red', number pla...

The fins are pretty clean as I jet wash the rad after off roading. I'll flush the system once I've got it through the MOT (needs welding in the footwell). Is it worth checking the thermostat and fitting a cowl? My thoughts were similar to Rogers, that no cowl would mean the fan wouldn't draw as much...
