The County Council has been asked to implement the following traffic control measure at the above locations.
Proposed Measures
Prohibition of motorised vehicles except for access to premises or land adjacent to the roads.
Reasons
a/ for avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, or
b/ for preventing damage to the road or to any building on or near the road, or
c/ for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians), or
d/ for preventing the use of the road by vehicular traffic of a kind which, or its use by vehicular traffic in a manner which, is unsuitable having regard to the existing character of the road or adjoining property, or
e/ (without predudice to the generality of paragragh (d) above) for preserving the character of the road in a case where it is specially suitable for use by persons on horseback or on foot, or
f/ for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
The letter continues to state that if there are no significant objections the scheme will be implimented within six months.
Objections should be addressed to:
Mr Les Parker
Highways North Yorkshire
Area 3 - Whitby Office
The Garth
White Leys Estate
Whitby YO21 3PD
Objections to be in by 10th July 2009
Or email: [email protected].
Or Tele: 0845 8727374
No matter how far away you live your objection counts!
Please write as an individual rather than naming a club/organisation as they have a habit of lumping all people from one organisation into just one objection rather than individual.
Even just a copy and paste of the list of roads and a one liner "I object to the proposed TROs to these routes" will do - just a couple of minutes of your time now could mean these are still available for years... well you have to stay optimistic!
No idea if these lanes are the ones under the recent YDNP ruling or is a different st of roads.

Looks like they didn't get the answer they wanted first time so are now trying again...
Further to the recent consultation by North Yorkshire County Council to which many of us replied and sent in their objections, they have now announced a second set of draft proposals have been issued, available for inspection between 3rd and 24th August 2009.
This time they have asked for anyone wishing to object to do so IN WRITING which therefore gives the impression that the first set of consultation documents may not be taken into consideration, especially if anyone emailed their responses.
It is therefore requested that written comments on the proposals are sent to
Mr Les Parker
Highways North Yorkshire
Area 3 - Whitby Office
The Garth
White Leys Estate
Whitby YO21 3PD
Comments need to be in by 24th August 2009 Latest.
If you wish to lodge an objection with regards to these proposals please write as an individual, not as a member of a club or group as these sometimes tend to be counted as a single objection on behalf of the club/group.
Thanks for your time.

A load of hand written (but legible) objections would be a bitch to correlate...
On past experience with YDNP they would have no hesitation whatsoever in placing hard to read objections into the bin or adding them into the "pro" pile. Don't make the assumption that they want a fair and balanced debate. In YDNPs case they accepted a petition of 1000 names from the anti green laners as 1000 "votes" and then lumped over 200 individual letters into a single "vote" from those against the closures because they were a standard letter.
This is less an exercise in democracy and more a case of seeing if they think they can get away with carrying out the closures. You'll also find many of the objections will be discarded because, in their opinion, the objections aren't founded. They won't discard any "pro" responses though no matter how rabid.
