Since i ditched my lift and gone back to standard CSW 90 springs, my ride 'quality' has improved immeasurably. well, for a LR anyway.
However i have been thinking.
the ride on a 90 is still quite crashy and harsh, mainly due to the standard springs still being fairly stiff. I presume this is due to the fact LR factored in they would get heavily loaded with stuff in the back and tow 3.5t trailers around.
My 90 very rarely gets loaded with any real weight, so this capability is wasted.
I was thinking, what would happen if i put on some discovery tdi springs on to my 90? A disco rides soooo much better than a defender due to having slightly softer and longer springs. I cant imagine the ride height would be affected too much due to the disco springs being longer (offsetting the fact they are softer) and i cant see body roll being any worse than a disco (defender is lighter than a disco)
am i mad, or would it be worth a try?

have a look at the link above, which gives you the spring rates and the colour stripes of the different land rover spring.
softer springs = better articulation.....I would go ahead..
I still have a couple of front spring that Dave told me where
ANR1975 Disco TDI Drivers side front, VIN KA to MA - blue/red/pink
ANR1976 Disco TDI Passenger side front, VIN KA to MA - blue/yellow/pink
you could have a go with these and if they work out you could pass some beer tokens my way and if they dont you will not have forked out any money

I used to run the 90 on standard 90 front and disco heavyduty rear springs when it was towing regularly. This worked quite well.The variable rate disco springs gave a decent ride when empty but were good with heavy trailers.
