No, it's not what you think.
Having a bit of trouble with my 1 ton diesel dump truck that's developed an electrical starting problem. I suspect one of the controller/relay components is duff as I'm getting intermittent and varying symptoms occuring.
It's quite old and is just used offroad (it is actually a 4x4 so it qualifies for the forum!) so I was thinking of bypassing all the existing wiring and rigging up a harness to power the fuel pump when the ignition is on and then a feed direct to the starter solenoid when you turn & hold the key at the starting position. When the ignition is switched off it would cut power to the fuel pump and thus stop the engine.
Is this logic too simple? (Useful) comments appreciated.
