Expansion tank cap leak

I'm not sure I'm going to like the answer to this question, but...
...there was some seepage/dribbling down the expansion tank on Sunday.

The coolant level is slightly lower than before, but as far as I can see (it's a bit difficult to see) there is no oil in there.
There is nothing to see in the oil filler, but the dipstick is reading more than max.

I haven't looked at anything else.

Any cheap to fix ideas?

Its a Land Rover so its never cheap! Doesnt sound good but deffo needs further investigation.

Given the warm weather it may be that it's got a bit warm and might not be anything to panic about regards the coolant level. How far is it sat below the line when it's cold ?

Oil level going up could be coolant (ouch) or could be injector seals (not too bad, get a new injector harness fitted at the same time). If it's injector seals then you'll also have increased fuel consumption as some of the fuel is ending up in the sump but I know you don't monitor that

Give me a ring and bob in , I can check for combustion gasses in coolant and oil smells like diesel if it's seeping into sump, it's common to have to replace expansionh bottle caps every few years btw and that's a reason for coolant loss.
