300tdi troubles

Postby tecnick » Sun Apr 20, 2014 12:20 pm

Hi all. Got alternator off, can't budge pulley wheel, any clues?
Need water pump off, can't budge pulley wheel also not sure of size of wp bolts, 10mm too floppy. Any clues.
Rad out for good access and replacent.
If it ain't broke, I'd be bloody suprised.

The water pump bolts might be 3/8". Do you mean the pulley on the alternator because they can be a b@%$£r to shift.
Nothing is impossible with the right attitude and a big hammer.

Alternator pulley is usually a windy gun affair , water pump pulley bolts are 10 mm but you need a good quality 6pt socket/spanner or you'll round em off

If it ain't broke, I'd be bloody suprised.
