Richard, Sorry if I am being dim again, but are those connectors you have on your seatbox a male and female affair, I have looked in 'Phil's Electronic Hobby Shop' and they all appear from the piccies to be the same. I have one of those compressors for pumping tyres back up which uses crock clips, presumably because they draw too much current for the average ciggie lighter. It would be nice to snip clips and replace them with a system like yours.
Advice welcome.

Nick, I'm not sure which photo you're referring to but I would think the connectors in question are probably what are often known as "Anderson" connectors. They come in various sizes from 50A up to several hundred amps. There is no "plug" or "socket", by clever design even though they are all the same they just plug into each other whilst keeping the polarity right.

If you seach eBay for "anderson connector" you'll find plenty.

Mine came under the brand name Durite connector, and as stated in the previous post there is no male and female, just 1 sort clevery design to go together.

Thanks guys, I may, one day, in the future, after I have put on the new roof and side panels, fitted the panard rod bush, replaced the hinges and repaired the other things that will soon break, have a look at those, they sound good.

I really should have know that fitting an exhaust with only 3 nuts to remove and a few rubber bushes was in fact a well planned ambush.

6 hours later, very large hammer to reshape the centre box, new mounting brackets welded up etc etc.

All now seems to be in order but for the excesive protrusion of the end bit, since its stainless it restricts my options re welding.

Any suggestions how I can cut this back flush and make the end result look neat would be appreciated.

do you want me to ask a friend of mine in Pontefract....just minutes from Brotherton........as he does stainless steel welding......

Might be able to cut and weld all on sunday morning if he is available...

Big ask on a Sunday morning, but if u could make some enquires and maybe see if he could possibly weld the end back on after its been cut back flush, allbeit at a more socialable time would be apperecated.

then it will not be a problem.......if you are not in a hurry....I'll be getting the welding wires and gas for stainless steel soon....then you are welcome to use the welder anytime.......

Just weld it with normal mig wire, the mild steel wire will convert as you weld.
