Well, after 7 months, 4 mechanics & loads of £££ the 1964 Series 2a is running real nice. (I can't believe how this simple v8 proved so difficult for so many!!!)

Removal of the efi, adding carbs, new head gasket & skim, fuel pump, timing, poke prod, poke some more plus lots of heartache

& in the end it was valve clearances & the distributor. Ahh well, all the work will have helped keep it fit.

Now to see how it goes off road - hopefully see you at the next trial!

Gearboxes are pretty basic items on series motors, in my experience, it's usually the a bearing that has gone. The trick is to catch it early before it starts destroying the rest of the internals. What are the symptoms?
5/4 of people admit that they’re bad with fractions.
