Postby bandiflip » Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:01 pm

I've just bought a 93K Classic Vogue SE which was a non runner due to a dead starter and battery so,got a starter on and charged battery up....cracked it up and instantly the trans temp light is on....also got an exclamation mark on too....anyone any ideas?
Also, whats the module under the passenger seat????????
(not taken seat out yet to look)

I could be wrong but I vaguely remember that the ABS ECU was under the passenger seat when fitted. Does it have ABS ?

The transmission overheat may just be the temperature switch. I can't remember if it comes on due to an open circuit or a short circuit - if the former it could just be a bad connection. The sensor/switch is mounted one end of the hedgehog oil cooler - I may have a spare :)

What colour exclamation mark is it ?

Hi in manual it's the check engine light (light above the ABS light), transmission temp sender can also be in the pipe before the main radiator transmission cooler part dependent on how late a 93 model

The plot thickens......Spoke to the previous owner,he swapped the instrument cluster a while ago,not looked yet but think some plug or earth isnt right.
Release the h/brake and the g/box temp light goes off...and on with h/brake swtch.
only the left indicator tell tale light works for BOTH sides.
H/brake light goes out with ABS light........I need to have a dig around me thinks.....heater only works on full speed......rear washer switch works the headlight washers........Oh what a joy it is to buy a car from someone who has NO idea !!!
