Waterproofing P38.......

Postby bandiflip » Wed Mar 18, 2009 12:55 am

Hey chaps.....Am just on with sorting my P38 for a bit of deep water,Snorkel is just about ready for bolting on,Axle and transmission breathers are all in place but Has anyone got any suggestions for waterproofing the ECU which is unfortunately located under the bonnet.
rather than extend the wiring (which could be asking for trouble) i would rather seal the ECU.....ALL suggestion are MOST welcome....I thank you !
do you know the meaning of Nemesis ???

I used to have a bob-tailed rangie and think the previous owner had a contract with Lakeland Plastics as everything electrical was housed in various sized butty boxes with loads of silcone to seal

Seemed to work

Dont know if some of these things are supposed to breath though ?

I would have thought that if it can survive under-bonnet on a hot day in Saudi then being sealed in a butty-box would be fine..
The only electronic things I know of that need to breath are 'normal' lambda sensor (not the kind they use on Land Rovers)...

(I am awaiting correction)... :)
