Calendar Download

Postby davew » Wed Jan 20, 2010 12:16 am

I realise it maybe of limited appeal but I started to put the club events into the calendar app on my iPhone and got bored so decided there must be an easier way.

I've made the solution public in case it's of any use to anyone else. In the "Important Links" box on the left of this page there is now a "Calendar Download" option which, if clicked, downloads an up to date events calendar file. This file is in an ICS format, used by a number of vendors including Apple's iCal application and various Microsoft calendars including Outlook.

You can download/import the file as often as you like and any changes to events will be made accordingly.

If anyone has another format they'd find useful let me know as I can always leverage the code to create other formats.

A list of applications that support this format are available here...

Well Dave you just saved me a job on my home and work PC's.

For those like me who use Outlook, save the file from the download link to your desktop, Open Outlook, File, Import and Export. Select Import an iCalendar (.ics). Browse to your desktop and click on the YORK Calendar file.

Apologies
