R.R.C......Will i ever learn !!

Postby bandiflip » Sat May 22, 2010 11:19 pm

Well......In the blistering heat I began YET ANOTHER project !!....even tho this is my 3rd off road project since joining the club last year.....I havent learnt my lesson and bought something already done !!!... :?

Friday was Re wiring day !!!...fit all the new lights (thanks Dave) and rewired them after some Loon fitted some bling bling lights and just cut all the wiring !!! Also fit my new bumper (thanks Nick). but need to cut some odd looking mounting under bumper.??????
Saturday...Removed the saggy headlining....cleaned the lining carcus ready to re-line it with some light weight speaker cloth.
Got the back end up in the air...cut off the rear rollbar mounts and removed rear shockers ready for lift kit....
Sunday.......More suspension i guess.....................

Looking good but keep up with forum info, one page isnt nearly enough, I'm going for 15 pages, its got to be a clear majority to beat Rog. I think Dave said there was a prize for the first person to get the big 20

Cheers Nick
If it ain't broke, I'd be bloody suprised.

holes for your high lift jack to fit into. Some highlifts have a round attachment to go over the jack step and you slot into them round holes, also works in the round holes on the back crossmember on a 90 and some rocksliders have them built in too. Idea being is that as you jack the motor up the jack step cant slide about and drop the motor off the jack cos its captured in the round hole.
Bugger!

Do you know any of the history of the RR?
One of the many ex police RRC I bought in the 90's had BFO box section behind the bumper and large uprights in front, these uprights had two strips of hard core rubber, like the stuff used on the backs of HGV trailers. It was an ex Manchester car and was apparently used as an "enforcement" car. Both sides had had extensive repairs which I assume was due to scrotes retaliating in their nicked Cossies or coppers who tried driving it the same as their Astra. I can't find an early picture but here are a couple of later ones which use the same technology.
