Hi,
My sunroof is the metal kind with a furry edge and drains underneath and - while it doesn't matter that it leaks, I would still like to seal it since it will certainly never open again for various reasons... So the question is - how to seal it so I can remove the drains?
I thought of sili-sealer or Tigerbond, but I think that getting it to stick to green mouldy fur would be difficult, so I am contemplating glass-fibre over the outside a couple of inches wide (looks are unimportant to me, but you have probably guessed that..)
What does the team think? Any suggestions would be welcome...

I've never done anything like this but i think a rubber or silicone based sealer would be better than fibre glass filler because of the flexibility.I think the glass would be too rigid and possibly crack or seperate giving more leaks!!
I would run sealant around the sunroof seal then when its dry,add more sealant on top of that then spread it out.

I have seen this solution, handy,easy to use but not permenant.

If it ain't broke, I'd be bloody suprised.
I take the point about cracking, but was thinking if I laid a 4" wide strip on sanded clean paintwork that it would be ok... perhaps not then!
Sealant (in my experience) usually leaks in the end no matter how much you put on, umberella - like it...
Sheet ally - the roof on an RRC curves in two axes so I would end up with a big gap somewhere...

PU adhesive will sort it out. It lasts forever, is oblivious to nearly all solvents (including petrol), remains flexible and expands with the joint. Silicon is a waste of time by comparison.
Two caveats:
It's resistant to all solvents, try not to get it on your skin unless you enjoy scrubbing your skin until it's red raw.
Don't use it if you think you might want to open the sunroof again at some point without breaking it.
Available under a number of brand names and in different colours, make sure you get the adhesive type as there is a none adhesive version used for body fitting. Sikaflex and Tiger Seal are common brands at decent auto factors.
