It's struggling to crank over but only when it's really cold.

Have you tested the basics , ie is the battery goosed !!!

Well if battery is ok....ya have cleaned all connections and checked earths.....try powering starter motor direct with jump leads or bridge it out with a screw driver,make sure it works

Daft question but is the battery the correct size? amps wise.
Dont discos have a timer relay on the heater plugs? Could it be that?

Had the same problem with my old 110, ok all year but turnend over slowly in winter turned out battery was for a v8 i.e to small not enought cranking amps replaced with a battey with more cranking power worked every time, should be at least over 800 cranking amps
Note - do not look at a halfords battery chart as they give the spec for a petrol model only.

I'm going to pick up a new battery and see if that cures the problem.
All the connections have been cleaned and even added additional earth points.
